Živimo zajedno

WHO WE ARE:

Association ''Živimo zajedno'' (Let’s Live Together) was founded in 1997 in Belgrade. The founders of the organisation are private citizens, parents of people with disabilities, professionals and interested citizens. The mission of the Association is to make people with disabilities visible, present and active in all segments of society, to encourage recognition of their skills and individuality, promote their rights and assist them in creating the conditions for a dignified and fulfilled life.

WHAT WE DO:

Activities of the Association encompass a day care for people with disabilities, education, work and info centre, numerous workshops, clubs and info-service. We implement training services for independent living, provide support related to employment and self-advocacy of our beneficiaries, provide legal advice and assistance to families, organise visits to institutions for permanent accommodation of individuals with disabilities.

At the day care, people with disabilities are trained for occupations that prepare them for future employment and independent life.

For now, our social enterprise has four groups of activities:

  • Bookbinding services (bending folders that are later sold in bookstores);
  • Recycling (collection, sorting and sale of secondary raw materials);
  • Making decorative and utility items (purses, ornaments, magnets);
  • Direct sales of "Liceulice" magazine in cooperation with SMart Collective organisation.

A part of the profit is used for paying our beneficiaries in proportion to the work done, while a part is used for the procurement of materials.

WHO WE HELP:

The Association "Let’s Live Together" has reached parents of children with disabilities who were not covered by other forms of social care, education and rehabilitation. Our greatest achievement is 80 beneficiaries who are independent in carrying out these activities and who receive monthly compensation for their work.

"Beneficiaries should feel pleasure because of their work and the results of their work, it is the best motivation. Our greatest satisfaction is when they feel contented."
