Naša kuća

WHO WE ARE:

Association "Our House" (Nasa kuća) was founded in 2007 in Belgrade. The organisation was founded by parents of children with disabilities. We are engaged in providing conditions for social inclusion of intellectually challenged people.

Our most important service is the Day Care for young people where through individual support plans they acquire new skills, increase the level of social dialogue and competence, self-responsibility, become independent in everyday life activities and prepare for employment.

In order to achieve sustainability, the Association has opened a workshop for the production of paper products that engages young people, the Day Care beneficiaries, their parents and volunteers. Furthermore, we have recently launched our catering service.

WHAT WE DO:

The main product of our workshop is paper bags, the production of which involves people with physical and mental disabilities. We are pleased that the social dimension of our product gives results: we have signed an exclusive contract with our largest customer, the Bakers' Union of Serbia. When buying pastry, remember that the paper bag you get is probably made in our workshop!

We have recently launched the catering service, intended primarily for the elderly and people with low mobility. We supply ready-made meals at affordable prices, and this service is supported by nongovernmental organisations and the Zvezdara Municipality.

The earned profits are used for running costs, salaries and production improvement.

WHO WE HELP:

"Our greatest satisfaction comes from the fact that young people with disabilities start earning money, they become more independent and realise the importance of work. What is also encouraging is the existence of small private companies willing to get involved and help our work out of humane reasons and not because of any benefits."
